An afternoon with Guinness book record holder
Date : November 19th, 2006.

Dont you think I am lucky? You'll say yes after reading this.
He is scared of the wind, has slept badly for years and has to avoid cows and other moving objects. Now, almost 50 years after deciding to let his fingernails grow, Sridhar Chillal has had enough.
Chillal, 64, a retired photographer, has decided to cut off his fingernails, which have been listed in the Guinness Book of Records for 20 years as the world's longest, in hopes of selling them for around $200,000.
"I'm much older now, so I feel I can't take this inconvenience for much longer," he said. "That's why I'm ready to give up."
Chillal, who lives in Pune, near Bombay, said he has problems sleeping -- "I can't move, can't turn sides, can't pull over the covers" -- because his nails are more than 40 inches long.
"I have so much tension as a result of the worry that my nails are going to break, that with every heartbeat I'm tense," he said.
Worse, the weight on his left hand has given him constant pain in his left wrist, elbow and shoulder.
The nails sprout from a misshapen left hand which is permanently disfigured from the extra weight he has been carrying around.
The longest nail is his thumb nail, measuring an astonishing 4.8 feet in length. Most of the time he keeps his nails in what looks like an oversized golf club bag.
He tries to remain vigilant for cars, motor scooters, cows, small children -- anything which might damage his nails.
Chillal's obsession began at the age of 14, when he read about a Chinese priest whose nails had grown to 22 inches in length. "I was amazed and I decided I would do that, and I could beat that," he recalled.
His family despaired. They predicted that he would end up destitute, but he proved them wrong. He worked as a photographer until his retirement in 1995, making good use of his functioning right hand. Then exhaustion set in.
Now he wants to sell the nails and is asking for at least $200,000 for all five.
"I prefer a museum or a curator to preserve them and I will also get reimbursement for all those years of inconvenience," he said. "I'll miss them. But I'll be happy knowing they are preserved and that my name will carry on."
Has it been worth it?
"What does man not do for fame?" Chillal asked. "He jumps from boats, dives from planes and does stunts on motorcycles. This is also done for fame. Were I to have another life, I would do it again."

Happy Mother's Day
As today is mother's day so I am writing something about my mother.
The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of my mom…
Love. She's most lovely person in my life. Apart from which she's great cook and I am very much foodie. She used to tolerate all my nuisance ever since my childhood till date.
My mom affectionately calls me…
Teju. There are many more names this space won't be sufficient enough for that.
The worst beating / scolding I ever got from my mom...
Neither my mom nor my dad ever beaten me. Mom once scold me for not eating on time but whenever I am at home I get scolded for being on laptop most of the time. ( I am trying to improve on this.)
One thing I have hidden from my mom...
Nothing to hide from her.
My mom’s catchphrases or takia kalaam…
Chal ab woh taktak bandh kar (noise of keyboard i.e. taktak), pure din taktak leke bethta hai, office main to iske saath hi hota hai ab jab ghar aata hai tab to hamare saath shanti se betha kar. Here she is referring to My laptop.
Some funny incident(s) with my mom...
Once I didn't told her that I am coming to home only my father was aware of this. From pune when i reach home and when I knock the door my mom was the one to open the door and was surprised to see me. This way I teased with support of my father.
The last time mom got angry with me…
Whenever I don't talk with her but talk with my dad on phone she gets angry (say jokingly kyun mujhe bhul gaya kya?). And if I don't talk with my mom for 2-3 days then meri to vaat lagti hai maamu....
My mom's the best because...
She's so much caring, so much loving, I can do anything to make her happy. Its being almost a decade since I am away from my home and so I am missing my family especially my mom.
The most cherished gift(s) I have from mom…
Forgiving nature, Calmness, reading habit, Being religious.
What else?
I would love to buy Saree for her and some gold Ornaments for her.
What would I be doing for Mother's Day?
Being away from home I won't be able to celebrate it with my Mom and yeah I also believe that Mother's Day is not the only day that you can celebrate with your Mom. Every day is Mother's Day and you should wish her every day. I will surely talk with her for long time as she love to receive my call at anytime in a day coz of being younger son amongst three of us.

Life sucks........... Get me out of here.
Since last few days it is really painstakingly stressful life that I am living. I don't know what is the reason for that. As it is summer which I don't like out the four season so it can be the reason but heat can't be the only reason or main reason for that.
There are plenty if I start counting. I am not living my life upto the mark since last few months. I can live much more happily than this. I want to fly like bird but can't do that. It does not mean I am pessimist. I am optimist(Although my blood group is not B positive) and proud of being one.
I am planning to do something in life which change the way I am living my life right now. let's see what happens next.
People in and around me are not that bad it can be like I am not able to grasp their idiotic behaviour.
Hey come on now enough of stressful article take a chill pill and wait for my next post which can be bit on relaxation.....
